Hello, welcome to McDowell’s DreamWorld Mineral & Skin Care…

Yeah, I know it’s a mouthful….

DreamWorld Minerals came about totally by accident.  After meeting some ladies and discovering mineral makeup, it was just a natural progression to create. Due to health issues, I knew that eventually I would not be able to work as a nurse forever. The long unusual hours, busy nursing floors, and the long drive to work were taking their toll on my health. While I never thought of myself as sickly, when I look at the list, it is overwhelming at times.  So with my love of fantasy, mythology,  makeup, and ancient history, DreamWorld was born.

So the investigation began…I had to learn the ingredients, the properties, and how to create long lasting colors. I do not have an artistic bone in my body, so at times it was grueling. Thank goodness I do have an eye for color, but even with the foundations there was a lot of trial and error involved. I have since learned so much more, and have been in the process of reformulating all my products.

Skin care is near and dear to my heart. I remember someone said to me once ” you would not pain on a dirty canvas, so why put makeup on a dirty face” and that has stuck with me since the beginning. And in order to keep your skin clean and healthy, the right skin care is important. I truly believe that simple is more, so  you will notice that most of my skin care products will have limited ingredients. But before I could do that I wanted to know more, so I went back to school. I graduated from Esthetics a year ago, and the knowledge I gained in school was a blessing. It made me excited again about creating my own skin care line. The skin care knowledge I could have taught myself, but it’s the hands on, the facials, the minute skin care assessment that really was beyond what I could have done without going there. It helped me reaffirm my belief that less is more and that while there are some synthetic ingredients that are safe, natural if at all possible is best also.

In the following weeks new products will make their way. That is in the makeup and skin care.
